Kwalata & Cholera Outbreak in Hammanskraal

Cholera Outbreak Hammanskraal & Kwalata.            (28 June 2018)

By now everyone is aware of the announcement of a cholera outbreak in Hammanskraal, reported by the media.Possible outbreak of cholera in Hammanskraal | SAnews

WEST: The current outbreak and affected area receives their water from the Apies river system, the  Tshwane WEST & Temba purification works. All areas affected on the WEST of Highway in the “greater” Hammanskraal district.

EAST: Kwalata Adventure Camp is situated on the EAST of Hammanskraal district. Kwalata on the EAST receives its water from the Pienaars River and the Magalies Water purification plant. None of the towns and suburbs on the EAST have been tested positive for Cholera. So we are “safe” in the meantime.

Nonetheless, we have implemented precautionary measures.

  • Several informational and preventative measure-workshops have been presented to all our staff.
  • A strict wash-up policy and practice in place.
  • As an added precaution, all our drinking water is boiled  | chilled before use.
  • We have changed our hand-soaps and dishwashing soaps to minimise & eliminate potential risks.
  • Foodstuffs are washed and rinsed in food-safe sterilisation agents.
  • As always clients and their safety first.
