Welcome to KWALATA CAMPS, Since 1994
Kwalata Adventure Camp has established itself over the last 30 years, presenting Adventure & Leadership programs.
The camp site dedicated and purposely built for school & youth groups. The theme — adventure in the bush veld, where evening camp fires and early morning coffee takes president. Situated in the Dinokeng Big5 Reserve, Gauteng our environment, learning about ourselves & others are central to all our activities.

TWO Camps to choose from: Phiri Camp: 40-180 learners +16 staff & Phiri Enyane Camp: 12-40 learners + 4 staff. Covid19 Restriction: Numbers allowed depending on restriction level at the time.
We offer fully catered camp site, rooms with bunkbeds, and communal ablution. Back to basic camping also available where we camp on the banks of the Moretele river, around campfire and under African skies.
Kwalata Game Lodge, situated in the Dinokeng Big 5 Game Reserve, was established in 1994 as a youth camp that focused on environmental education and leadership development. This camp has become a vibrant lodge hosting local, international and corporate groups. Kwalata & Adventure Camp is an owner-managed, eco-lodge situated in northern Gauteng Province, South Africa. It is the perfect malaria-free stop-over to or from northern destinations and it is only one hour’s drive from OR Tambo International Airport.
Kwalata combines cultural, social and environmental programmes with live guest experiences to generate measurable outcomes for Kwalata’s array of community initiatives.
Kwalata comprises a flourishing complement of staff members and service providers determined to make a difference.

The two leopards Zella (Female), Ziklas(Male) from Shayamanzi, will be released from the Predator boma on Friday the 11th of December 2020. After their release they will be monitored closely to track their movements as they explore the greater DGR. The two Leopards are doing very well since the release on 11 December 2020 they settled down around Mongena dam
“On Thursday the 15th of October 2020 we checked up on our Rietvlei cheetah female and found five healthy month old cubs. This is her 3rd litter on the DGR, she is a successful mother and a very important part of the cheetah metapopulation not only for South Africa (Lapalala Wilderness) but also for Africa to Malawi (Majete Wildlife Reserve).We
